About SendCadence
SendCadence is a collection of lightweight browser challenges for reaction, memory and attention. No account required.
What Pulse is
Pulse is five short challenges you can finish in under two minutes: reaction time, visual memory, number memory, quick math and color match. At the end you get a score out of 100 and a breakdown of how you did.
It's built for the moments in between: a coffee break, the wait before a meeting, the minute after you wake up. Open the page, play a round, close the tab. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
The five challenges
- Reaction time. Tap the moment the panel turns yellow. Three rounds, and tapping early restarts the round.
- Visual memory. Five tiles light up on a four-by-four grid. Find them again once they go dark.
- Number memory. A six-digit number flashes on screen for a few seconds. Type it back from memory.
- Quick math. One sum, subtraction or times-table question. Answer correctly, and quickly.
- Color match. A color word appears in a different ink. Tap the ink color, not the word. Six rounds.
How scoring works
Every score comes from your own taps and answers in that run. Reaction time uses the median of three taps. The memory challenges count what you got right. Math rewards a correct answer more the faster it arrives. Color match counts correct taps with a small speed bonus. The overall score is the plain average of the five.
There are no rankings or percentiles. Pulse has no database of other people's results, so it doesn't compare you with anyone. It only compares you with your own best on the same device.
How we build it
We keep SendCadence small on purpose. A few principles guide every challenge we make:
- Short. A full run should fit inside two minutes. If a challenge drags, it gets cut.
- Honest. Scores are calculated from what you actually did, and the formula is explained on the page. No invented percentiles, no flattering filler.
- Private. Scores are worked out in your browser. Your results never leave your device.
- Accessible. Challenges work with touch, mouse and keyboard, respect reduced-motion settings, and announce results to screen readers.
Tips for a fair run
Your score moves with your setup and your day. For results you can compare from one run to the next, play on the same device, in a quiet spot, with notifications silenced. Touchscreens and fast monitors often record slightly quicker reaction times than older laptops, so compare yourself with yourself, not with a friend on a different phone.
What it is not
Pulse is a game for a few minutes of fun. It is not a medical or psychological test, and the score says nothing about your health or ability. If you're concerned about your memory, attention or reaction speed, talk to a qualified professional.
